El primero recoge el estudio, con cap\u00edtulos correspondientes a la vida y obra de gonzalez de salas, a la fortuna critica de la nueva idea hasta nuestros dias y a cada una de las partes del tratado. La tesis aborda el estudio del texto desde una perspectiva m\u00faltiple. En primer lugar, analiza sus reflexiones sobre la forma y el contenido de la tragedia a la luz de las teor\u00edas po\u00e9ticas y ret\u00f3ricas vigentes en la \u00e9poca, as\u00ed como las personales aportaciones del autor a la tradici\u00f3n de la ex\u00e9gesis aristot\u00e9lica. En segundo lugar, valora la importancia del tratado en el contexto de las pol\u00e9micas literarias de su tiempo. en tercer lugar, identifica las fuentes y la filiaci\u00f3n intelectual de cada una de sus ideas, tanto en la tradici\u00f3n de la preceptiva espa\u00f1ola precedente como en la italiana. Por \u00faltimo, sit\u00faa a gonzalez de salas en el panorama del humanismo espa\u00f1ol y, concretamente, en el \u00e1mbito de los estudios de cultura cl\u00e1sica.  el segundo volumen recoge los resultados de la tarea ecd\u00f3tica, que para esta obra tenia un car\u00e1cter inaugural, puesto que se trata de la primera edici\u00f3n de la nueva idea seg\u00fan los criterios m\u00e1s recientes de la moderna cr\u00edtica textual. Tras el cotejo de distintos ejemplares de bibliotecas espa\u00f1olas, francesas e italianas, ofrece la transcripci\u00f3n de la edici\u00f3n de 1633 conservada en la biblioteca nacional de Madrid con la signatura t-1.521. de esta forma disponemos ya de un texto fijado al que se han a\u00f1adido las anotaciones sobre fuentes, conceptos literarios y elementos hist\u00f3rico-culturales necesarias para su perfecta inteligencia, as\u00ed como unos \u00edndices tem\u00e1ticos y onom\u00e1sticos que facilitan la consulta del texto.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
