Sin olvidar la actuaci\u00f3n de la prl en otras funciones corporales importantes, su relaci\u00f3n con los estr\u00f3genos y el estr\u00e9s, as\u00ed como sus funciones reproductivas incluso relacionadas con la fertilidad, materia de amplio estudio y de necesidad para el mantenimiento de una explotaci\u00f3n de ganado vacuno. El objetivo de combinar estudios in vivo e in vitro, es ver si existe una correlaci\u00f3n estrecha entre los tratamientos en el animal con todos los factores adicionales a la hip\u00f3fisis, y el uso de t\u00e9cnicas de cultivo de la misma para reproducir los efectos reales en el individuo, de determinadas sustancias. En principio era necesario conocer el comportamiento de la prl a acciones estimuladoras e inhibidoras y por tanto, utilizamos trh y da. Por todo esto, y por la relaci\u00f3n funcional y morfol\u00f3gica de gh y prl, as\u00ed como por la existencia de c\u00e9lulas adenohipofisarias bihormonales, en n\u00famero importante en bovino, se realiz\u00f3 el estudio de un posible efecto regulador de los secretagogos de gh (ghrh y ss), sobre la secreci\u00f3n de prl, ya que existen estudios contradictorios en varias especies animales y en diferentes situaciones fisiol\u00f3gicas. A su vez, estudiamos las acciones  de ghrp-6 y ghrp-2, que son p\u00e9ptidos de s\u00edntesis cuyo efecto estimulador de gh est\u00e1 ampliamente reconocido. La utilizaci\u00f3n de ot para aumentar la producci\u00f3n de leche en el per\u00edodo de lactaci\u00f3n, viene dada porque es imprescindible para evitar la degeneraci\u00f3n de las gl\u00e1ndulas mamarias y necesaria para la eyecci\u00f3n de la leche. Realizamos un estudio cr\u00f3nico de esta sustancia para poder observar si su empleo en explotaciones ganaderas conllevar\u00eda alg\u00fan efecto sobre la secreci\u00f3n de prl o las c\u00e9lulas
