La obtenci\u00f3n de estos par\u00e1metros se ha llevado a cabo mediante el desarrollo de nuevos m\u00e9todos de caracterizaci\u00f3n in situ de las vidas medias, secciones eficaces de las transiciones, par\u00e1metros de los fen\u00f3menos de transferencia cooperativa de energ\u00eda entre los iones (tce-debidos a las altas concentraciones de dopante-), p\u00e9rdidas por difusi\u00f3n e inserci\u00f3n y distribuciones de intensidad modal.  la labor de modelizaci\u00f3n incluye el desarrollo de m\u00e9todos de resoluci\u00f3n del modelo de propagaci\u00f3n que permiten obtener resultados con elevada precisi\u00f3n y una reducci\u00f3n del tiempo de c\u00e1lculo de m\u00e1s de dos \u00f3rdenes de magnitud.  mediante la verificaci\u00f3n del modelo, comparando sus predicciones te\u00f3ricas con medidas de propagaci\u00f3n, se comprueba la validez general del mismo (incluyendo los valores de los par\u00e1metros determinados experimentalmente), se determinan con mayor precisi\u00f3n algunos de ellos y se constata la influencia de la tce en el valor de la ganancia, poniendo de relieve la necesidad de obtener los par\u00e1metros que la determinan con mayor
