Actualmente se ha prestado mucha atencion al phi.  objetivos: 1) determinar el ph basal del linfocito humano y los mecanismos reguladores del ph. 2) estudiar las anomalias de los mismos en hipertensos. 3) y ver si se relacionan con p clinicos.  material: para medir el phi se utilizo el \u00abbcecf\u00bb, la fluorescencia se midio por citometria. Resultados: el intercambiador cl \/ hco3 indep na+ era el mas importante en el mantenimiento del ph. Por otra parte se encontraron alterados 3 parametros celulares en hipertensos: 1) una disminucion del ph basal 2) disminucion de la capacidad tampon (b) y 3) aumento de la actividad del intercambiador na+ \/h+. Por otra parte se observo como la actividad del na+\/h+ se correlacionaba positivamente con la insulina y negativamente con el colesterol-hdl, siendo las posibles causas de la hiperactividad del na+\/h+. El phi se correlacionaba positivamente con la b siendo esta la posible causa de un ph menor en hipertensos.
