Se han definido asimismo los modelos materiales que se emplean. Se han estudiado las ecuaciones diferenciales que rigen el proceso de forja, determinandose las expresiones que adoptan las ecuaciones de equilibrio mecanico, transmision de calor e incomprensibilidad para la formulacion de flujo. Tras exponer brevemente algunas ideas basicas sobre el metodo de los elementos finitos, se han discretizado las ecuaciones diferenciales mecanicas y termica, incluyendose la condicion de imcomprensibilidad mediante el empleo de penalizadores.  la presencia de fenomenos altamente influyentes en la modelizacion, como el endurecimiento por deformacion, la distorsion de la malla y la friccion se ha estudiado con deternimiento, desarrollandose las soluciones necesarias para incluir estos factores en la simulacion. Se han desarrollado las tecnicas computacionales necesarias para los modulos de preproceso, calculo y postproceso.
