Coli k-12 mediante tranduccion con el fago p1 kc  resistente al acido nalidixico. Posteriormente hemos utilizado esta cepa como receptora en procesos de conjugacion bacteriana empleando como bacterias donadoras cepas salvajes que llevaban plasmidos de resistencia a los antibioticos. Los plasmidos aislados en el medio hospitalario pertenecen a los grupos de incompatibilidad m y p1. Los plasmidos del grupo m son homogeneos en cuanto a su patron de resistencia y a los mecanismos de inactivacion de los antibioticos ya que codifican lactamasas tipo tem-1 y una aminoglicosido-acetil-transferasa (aac3e. Los plasmidos del grupo p1 son en su mayoria homogeneos sintetizando una b lactamasa tipo tem-1 siendo las enzimas inactivantes de aminoglicosidos de tres tipos  adenilasas acetilasas y fosforilasas.
