La tecnica permite operar con o sin reciclado de la solucion y con periodos experimentales muy breves (5 min.) Lo que resulta ventajoso para el analisis cinetico de los resultados. La absorcion de un determinado azucar en una serie de periodos sucesivos en el mismo animal se mantiene muy constante (con perfusion continuada y glucosa en la solucion  inferiores al nivel glucemico) la velocidad alcanza un valor estacionario ya en el primer minuto  y se mantiene constante durante mucho tiempo. La velocidad de absorcion de glucosa aumenta con la velocidad de perfusion. La hiperglucemia (2 x valor normal) no afecta a la constancia de la absorcion . La absorcion de glucosa  galactosa y 3-m-d-glucosa  incluye dos componenetes: uno no saturable  y otro que exhibe cinetica de saturancion y es sensible a la florricina.  previa correccion por el
