Las ideas se dan en dos apartados: las raices de la crisis ecologica y las respuestas a ella. Las supuestas raices se extienden desde el mandato biblico de dominio hasta las influencias modernas secularizantes, mientras que las respuestas incluyen tanto las rechazadas por los autores teologicos -debido a que suponen una solucion inadecuada a la crisis- como las que ellos mismos proponen.  el segundo capitulo evalua algunos puntos que surgen del status quaestionis -soluciones concretas o metodos usados para el desarrollo de estas- dando razones ecologicas a la vez que teologicas para su rechazo o aceptacion. Se concluye que algunas metodolog\u00edas no responden a las exigencias de una teolog\u00eda de la ecolog\u00eda, como tampoco algunos planteamientos de la naturaleza de dios y su actividad creadora, o el modo de concebir el valor de los seres creados. Se valoran positivamente algunos enfoques apreciativos de la creacion -por ejemplo, el ejemplarismo y la vision sacramental de la naturaleza- como tambien el hincapie que se hace en la responsabilidad, el trabajo y las virtudes como marco del papel humano dentro de la creacion.  el capitulo iii es una contribucion para la elaboracion de una teolog\u00eda de la ecolog\u00eda, desarrollada a la luz del status quaestionis.  se subraya la importancia de la revelacion como tambien de un fundamento ontologico solido. Este fundamento incluye una captacion del valor de todas las criaturas y del orden en la creacion. La tarea propia del ser que es imagen y semejanza de dios en el mundo se desarrolla en sus dimensiones personales y sociales. En particular, se describe el impacto del pecado y de la redencion en toda la creacion.
