Jos\u00e9 De Los <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La progresiva alteracion del hipocampo en la enfermedad de alzheimer (ea) se ha estudiado en 23 pacientes, sirviendo como controles 22 pacientes de edades paralelas a los anteriores sin alteraciones clinicas ni neuropatologicas del snc. Los pacientes con ea se han dividido en dos grupos atendiendo a su estadio evolutivo (test mms de folstein, crichton, did de guijarro, gds de reisberg): grupo i (estadio ii), 10 casos; grupo ii (estadio iii), 13 casos.  los cerebros fueron fijados en formol tamponado (10%), con un tiempo post mortem entre 2 y 15 horas. El bloque conteniendo el hipocampo, incluido en parafina, fue cortado coronalmente, de forma seriada, a 7   m, y se emplearon como tinciones el violeta de cresilo (nissl), pas y bielschowski.  los resultados basados en el recuento neuronal del gyrus dentatus y de todos los campos ammonicos con la ayuda de un analizador de imagenes, asi como el recuento de placas seniles y ovillos neurofibrilares han mostrado diferencias altamente significativas con los controles, especialmente en ca1. Estos cambios son mas intensos en el estadio iii.
