Una comun, donde la accion de gracia es todavia imperceptible de modo que a la meditacion predominante se mezclan las iluminaciones y las inspiraciones pasajeras que dan el conocimiento contemplativo; y la otra contemplativa, en la cual el alma se da cuenta de la actuacion divina en cuanto ya ingresa en los estados contemplativos. La primera se denomina la contemplacion adquirida y la secunda infusa y eso en base a la distinta experiencia psicologica de alma en cada caso.
