Esta se elabora a traves de una extensa investigacion del cristianismo primero a nivel descriptivo y luego a nivel explicativo.  el primer nivel se desarrolla en terminos formales de criterios para la identificacion del hecho cristiano y en las categorias historico-sociologicas que maximamente exhiben lo que el cristianismo ha sido: iglesia \/ secta; religion oficial \/ popular; establecimiento \/ mesianismo.  el nivel explicativo comprende  a su vez  dos generos de analisis: uno en registro de critica de la ideolog\u00eda (religiosa); el otro  como teoria de las practicas simbolicas. El trabajo terminarecogiendo la problematica enunciada al comienzo; sugiere una determinacion de lo religioso como conjunto de fenomenos ccon un aire de familia con el cristianismo; aborda cuestiones
