Se presenta a hume como un pensador positivista que se enfrenta a la metafisica racionalista y a la teolog\u00eda natural y revelada utilizando instrumentos semanticos (el criterio empirista de significacion  al que se libera del marco psicogenetico con el que usualmente se le ha presentado) y logicos (la distincion entre razonamiento demostrativo y razonamiento causal  que supone la distincion entre dos tipos independientes de logica  deductiva e inductiva con sus reglas propias).
