Por otra parte, hemos evaluado la preValencia de infeccion por vhc (anti-vhc por elisa y rna-vhc por pcr) en 73 pacientes con antecedentes tromboticos (ete) sin evidencia de enfermedad hepatica, divididos en 2 grupos segun presentasen negatividad (37 pacientes) o positividad (36 pacientes) para los aac.  la preValencia de aac en el grupo 1 fue del 1,9% y del 15% en el grupo 2. En pacientes del grupo 3 no seleccionados fue del 12,7% y hasta del 41,7% en aquellos que ademas presentaban trombopenia sin htp y del 47,1% en los que ademas presentaban ete. Se evidencio infeccion por vhc en 6\/36 pacientes con ete y aac positivos y en ninguno de los 37 con ete y aac negativos. Por tanto, la preValencia de aac esta incrementada en los pacientes con hc-c, especialmente en aquellos que presentan trombocitopenia o ete.
