Se han medido y asignado transiciones en el estado fundamental de ambas especies isotopicas y tambien transiciones en los estados vibracionales excitados (0 1)  (0 2) y (1 0) para la especie con c135.  se han determinado las constantes de acoplamiento de cuadrupolo nuclear para ambas especies; estas constantes se han interpretado en terminos del caracter de enlace doble y del caracter ionico del enlace carbono-cloro. Se ha llevado a cabo tambien un analisis de los splitting experimentales como consecuencia del efecto de rotacion interna  habiendose calculado la barrera de rotacion interna del grupo metilo terminal que tiene una magnitud de 2500 + 50 kcal mol-1.
