El 2-metilacrilato de metilo y el 4-fenilisocrotonato de metilo  con hidrogenos en posicion alilica  presentan el mismo comportamiento que los anteriores; por el contrario  el ester metilico del acido crotonico se muestra activo frente a la nbs en disolventes apolares y da lugar al producto de halogenacion alilica  aun en presencia de sales de amonio cuaternario  condiciones en las que se obtiene
