Este contactor esta constituido por dos lechos en el mismo recipiente producidos por un aumento de seccion en su zona superior y con el se consiguen eliminar los inconvenientes y aprovechar las ventajas de los lechos fijo y fluidizado. Los experimentos sin reaccion quimica se realizaron con contactores de distinta forma y escala y usando dos tipos de solido. El estudio con reaccion quimica se realizo con la deshidratacion del zetil-hexanol en fase gaseosa. Se ha propuesto un modelo para calcular la conversion a la salida del reactor  que se ha comprobado experimentalmente. Asimismo la conversion obtenida en este contactor se ha comparado con la que se obtendria en un lecho fijo y flujo piston y en un lecho fluidizado en las mismas
