En la primera se precisa la actitud estetica de los tratadistas espa\u00f1oles de pintura del siglo xviii en relacion con los estetas europeos de la epoca y se determinan las fuentes de sus escritos: con este criterio se estudia en ella la aportacion a la teoria de la belleza  propiedades objetivas de la belleza  concepto de la pintura  teoria de la imitacion  arte y expresion  arte y moral  teoria del artista  teoria de la contemplacion y estudio de las fuentes (285pp.) En la segunda se realiza un estudio monografico individualizado de las teorias esteticas y tecnicas de palomino (286-547)  fray juan interian de ayala (548-742)  g. Mayans (743-845)  a. R. Mengs (846-1064)  j. N. De azara (1065-1148)  e. De arteaga (1149-1205)  v. Requeno (1206-1308)  p. Garcia de la huerta (1309-1375)  f. Preciado de la vega (1376-1512)  y d. A. Rejon de silva (1513-1591).
