Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Se han extraido  aislado  identificado y cuantificado los carotenoides de v. Villosa  v. Sativa  v. Monanthas y v.  ernilia en cinco fases distintas de su ciclo vegetativo.  las muestras se liofilizaron inmediatamente despues de cortadas. La extraccion se hizo por el metodo de la a.O.A.C. Y la identificacion por cromatografia en capa fina. Con los resultados obtenidos se realizo un analisis estadistico. Resultaron ser iguales (p 0 01) la v monanthas y la v. Ernilia. La v.  villosa es la que tiene mayor cantidad de carotenoides por unidad de sustancia seca. Se aislaron carotenos luteina  zeaxantina  violaxantina y neoxantina. La mayor cantidad de pigmento corresponde a la luteina en las cuatro especies y en los cinco cortes.
