Los problemas a resolver son los derivados de: 1) la naturaleza no gaussiana del ruido shot. 2) la dependencia del ruido shot con el mensaje digital transmitido. 3) la interferencia entre simbolos.  para tratar dichos problemas se desarrollan una serie de modelos que permiten calcular: la probabilidad de error en el simbolo  el umbral optimo  la ganancia de multiplicacion optima
