Se ha establecido un corpus de veinticinco artistas importantes y se ha estudiado sus aportaciones dentro de las distintas vertientes del informatismo. Este comprende cuatro subtendencias como son: pintura de materia  pintura del signo-gesto  pintura tactista  pintura espacialista. El estudio de la obra de los pintores se ha efectuado directamente del natural con objeto de poder establecer unas periodizaciones concretas.
