La inoculacion  con algunas excepciones  no afecto al contenido de fenolicos totales aunque si influyo en la tasa de algunos fenolicos individuales. Las actividades enzimaticas estudiadas fenilalanina amonico liasa (pal)  malato deshidrogenasa (mdh)  peroxidasas (per)  polifenoloxidasa (ppo) y indolacetico oxidasa (iaao) se mostraron como sistemas inducibles por la presencia del patogeno  y salvo en el caso de la actividad pal  este efecto fue superior en plantas de la variedad suceptible a plasmopara helianthi peredovick  que en las de la
