Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Con el fin de obtener biomasa a partir de 40 muestras de suelos de diversa procedencia se han aislado 103 cepas bacteriaanas  capaces de utilizar metanol como unica fuente de carbono y energia  la mayor parte de las cuales han sido identificadas como especies del genero pseudomonas. Una de dichas cepas (identificada como pseudomonas 5.073) ha sido cultivada en un fermentador chemap de 7 l. De capacidad  a ph 6  y temperatura de 30 c  con una agitacion de 1.500 t.P.M. Una entrada de aire de 0 3 v\/v\/m y utilizando un medio de cultivo compuesto a base de sales minerales y metanos. En estas condiciones se obtuvieron en 22 horas  3 7 g\/l de materia seca que corresponden a 0 39 g. De biomasa \/g de metanol suministrado.
