Por ambos metodos se pone de manifiesto la existencia de al menos dos clases de puntos de union en la proteina a los que puede ligarse el antibiotico. Se comprueba que el tipo de union es multiple  se determina la estequiometria total y se calcula el numero de sitios y el valor de las constantes de asociacion  que resultan sensiblemente iguales por los dos metodos aplicados. La presencia de la vitamina b12 proporciona resultados diferentes por ambos metodos  lo que se puede atribuir al enorme efecto de amortiguacion de la fluorescencia del triptofano que presenta la vitamina b12  que puede dar como resultado un enmascaramiento de la accion que el antibiotico presenta sobre la fluorescencia de ese compuesto y conduce a resultados
