Asi mismo  estudiamos la influencia que ejerce sobre la sintesis del enzima la presencia en el medio de cultivo de distintos compuestos. Mediante estudios cineticos realizados sobre el enzima  hemos identificado algunos compuestos que se comportan como inhibidores de la actividad de la a-galactosidasa lo que permite relacionar de alguna forma su afinidad por el enzima con su capacidad para inducir la sintesis de la -galactosidasa. Se comprobo la existencia de determinados compuestos que no son hidrolizados por estas levaduras y que  por lo tanto  permiten mantener constante el grado de induccion a lo largo del cultivo.
