Este analisis conduce al estudio y clasificacion de las distribuciones de probabilidad en las colas  dando lugar a los conceptos de equiValencia  orden y tipo de cola que surgen de consideraciones practicas. Este nuevo planteamiento se aplica al problema de la distribucion de valores extremos llegandose a la conclusion de que las tres familias clasicas son insuficientes para ajustar cualquier distribucion de valores extremos. Ademas se sugiere otra familia de distribuciones para el ajuste que incluye a las tres clasicas como casos particulares.  finalmente se discute el problema del ajuste dando varios metodos y se aplica
