Asi la primera  es una regla a utilizar para cuando vayamos a aplicar la tecnica de analisis discriminante y esta basada en la funcion influencia  la segunda es utilizada para detectar outliers en poblaciones normales p-dimensionales y esta basada en el cociente de verosimilitudes y la ultima esta basada en la distancia entre matrices simetricas y definidas positivas y se da para la deteccion en poblaciones normales bivariantes.
