Se considero la posibilidad de que en los mutantes pola  las alteraciones producidas en el adn durante la replicacion  debido a una deficiencia en la adn polimerasai (pol i)  pudiesen llevar a una mayor eficiencia del proceso inductor  tanto si ese fuese originado por lesiones en el adn como si ocurriese tras otro tratamiento que no lo lesionara.
