Las reacciones de raul con los acidos hbf4  hpf6 y helo4 ha permitido aislar un nuevo tipo de compuestos de estequiometria ]r (aul)2]+ en los que el grupo polifluorofenilo actua como puente deficiente de electrones  entre dos atomos metalicos. Con (au(c6f3h2)2]- se obtiene el derivado tetranuclear ]auc6f3h2))4. C6f5au cnph puede adicionar nucleofilos como aminas primarias o secundarias  amoniaco o alcoholes para dar un nuevo tipo de carbonos. La oxidacion de los complejos de oro (i) con halogenos conduce a los derivados de oro (iii) au rx2l.
