Las asociaciones arcilla-ah obtenidas se han estudiado con diversas tecnicas (espectroscopias uv-v e ir  eletroforesis  analisis termico  difraccion de rayos x y microscopia electronica de transmision). Lo mas sobresaliente de los resultados obtenidos ha sido: la influencia decisiva de la naturaleza de la arcilla en el proceso de adsorcion de ah  el predominio de uniones fisicas en las asociaciones preparadas  el menor grado de humificacion y condensacion aromatica de los ah retenidos por las arcillas en comparacion con los ah de partida  y en general  un comportamiento de los ah de carbon
