En el primer capitulo se describe la utilidad de los aniones anteriormente citados como equivalentes sinteticos de aniones b-acilvinilicos. Estos aniones han sido empleados en la preparacion de esteres y cetoesteres insaturados, alfa-b-butenolidas y compuestos carbonilicos alfa,b-insaturados b,b-dialquilados. Como aplicacion de la metodolog\u00eda sintetica desarrollada se han sintetizado varios productos naturales, o bien sus precursores, de elevada importancia como son: la butenolida del furano de la rosa, el derivado o-bencilado de la umbelactona, la andirolactona y un precursor del seco-acido de la dilactona macrociclica pirenoforina.  en el segundo capitulo se analiza la induccion asimetrica generada por la presencia de un sustituyente quiral sobre el grupo sulfonilo en la reduccion de b-oxosulfonas. De los auxiliares quirales empleados, el (s)-o- (1-pivalamidoetil) fenilo ha sido con el que mejores resultados se han obtenido, encontrandose una fuerte dependencia de la diastereoselectividad de la
