El intestino de rata presenta un maximo en la dpt e icc para una concentracion de calcio en el medio por debajo de 2 7 mm. El de pollo  para concentraciones de alrededor de 5 4 nm y el de gallina ponedora para una de 10 8 mm.  en el intestino de gallina  se postula un transporte de calcio independiente de sodio  y otro dependiente de sodio.
