Se aplico la ecuacion de hammett observandose que se cumple tanto en el proceso de adsorcion del acido como en la reaccion de superficie. La geometria del estado de transicion fue determinada por aplicacion de la teoria de los orbitales frontera obteniendose la que supone una interaccion del etanol perpendicularmente al acido adsorbido
