Con hmg-coa reductara marcada con 32p  obtenida por nosotros  pudimos demostrar que las cuatro formas moleculares de reductasa fosfotasas anteriormente aisladas  defosforilaban  efectivamente  la reductora con un aumento concomitante de su actividad.  posteriormente se estudio el efecto de distintos metabolitos sobre dichas reductasa fosfotasas concluyendo de los resultados  que dichas
