En particular, se ha estudiado el tratamiento de halogenacion con acido tricloroisocianurico (tci), que es el agente halogenante mas ampliamente utilizado en la industria dicho tratamiento produce un incremento en la adhesion de los distintos cauchos frente a adhesivos de poliuretano debido a un incremento en la adhesion mecanica (rugosidad superficial, grietas), adhesion termodinamica (incremento de la energia superficial), y adhesion quimica (eliminacion de sustancias antiadherentes, creacion de grupos polares superficiales).  las tecnicas experimentales empleadas para conocer la naturaleza de las modificaciones producidas en el caucho fueron: fuerzas de pelado en t, microscopia electronica de barrido (sem), microscopia de fuerza atomica (afm), medidas de angulos de contacto, espectroscopia infrarroja (ftir), espectroscopia fotoelectronica de rayos x (xps), calorimetria diferencial de barrido (dsc), analisis termomecanico (tma) y propiedades mecanicas de los cauchos (traccion y alargamiento).  se han analizado tambien otros aspectos relacionados con el tratamiento de halogenacion de cauchos: i) capas de debil cohesion en cauchos de estireno-butadieno, ii) influencia de la naturaleza del caucho en la cloracion con tci, iii) influencia del disolvente en el tratamiento superficial de cauchos sinteticos, iv) rugosidad superficial en cauchos
