Las fases intermedias de la reaccion de transformacion no presentan microporosidad. Los mesoporos presentes en estas muestras son cilindricos. El tama\u00f1o de particula disminuye con el tratamiento (aumenta la superficie) y luego aumenta (decrece la superficie). La goetita se transforma en hematites cuando se calienta  en aire y en vacio  a 250 grados c durante 2 horas. Aparecen microporos en las muestras calentadas en los intervalos 150-250 grados c en vacio y 200-250 grados c en aire  con el consiguiente aumento brusco de superficie. A 300 grados c se destruyen estos microporos y los mesoporos presentes son de geometria cilindrica. Estos microporos formados en el tratamiento son el origen del ensanchamiento no uniforme de bandas de difraccion de rayos x. No es posible asignar un mecanismo para la reaccion de transformacion.
