Las ocho subunidades se disponen en forma de anillo ocupando alternativamente dos planos diferentes girados uno respecto al otro 45   lo que confiere a la molecula una simetria rotacional de ocho veces. El enzima contiene 4 moleculas de fad  4 citosomas del tipo b 557 y 2 citomas de molibdeno. La actividad enzimatica de la ninatro reductora se encuentra regulada por oxido-reduccion segun un proceso en el que se transfiere un solo electron  siendo -50 mv el potencial normal a ph7 5  del
