En una segunda parte y trabajando sobre rata wistar  se han estudiado a nivel experimental  tanto histologica como ultraestructuralmente  las posibles vias que conducen inervacion parasimpatica a la mandibula de la rata. El metodo ha consistido en la seccion de la cuerda del timpano y posteriormente el estudio con metodos especificos parala deteccion de degeneraciones wallerianas. Previamente se obutuvieron patrones degenerativos mediante la seccion de nervios vago hipogloso y dentario inferior. Se estudiaron un total de 138 casos: 61 piezas humanas en condiciones de normalidad y 77 animales de experimentacion.
