Se obtuvieron mutantes hha (altamente productores de hemolisina:  fenotipo hly+++) mediante mutagenesis con tn5. En la descendencia de estos mutantes se observo la aparicion de clones con un fenotipo no productor de hemolisina (hly-) y con un fenotipo parental (hly+). En primer lugar se llevo a cabo una caracterizacion de los clones con un fenotipo diferente a hly+++, detectandose transposiciones de tn5 desde su localizacion inicial en el gen hha a una localizacion plasmidica en los clones hly- y cromosomica en los clones hly+. En ambos casos la transposicion de tn5 tiene lugar restaurando la secuencia del gen hha.  este fenomeno contradice la hipotesis actual sobre la transposicion de tn5, ya que se considera que estos clones no serian viables.  por otra parte, tambien se han estudiado los efectos sobre la transposicion de tn5 de la proteina hha (seguramente relacionada con la topolog\u00eda del adn) y de otros
