Al fraccionar la cromatina digerida con clna o im y separar las subunidades nucleosomales  se han obtenido tres poblaciones diferentes de mononucleosomas por su distinto contenido en proteinas no histonas y h1 es de destacar la diferente distribucion en las subunidades de la cromatina de dos proteinas no histonas (p44 y p48)  de posible implicacion en los procesos de replicacion y la distribucion homogenea de la proteina d1. Posteriormente se realizaron estudios estructurales de las fracciones de la cromatina  mediante las tecnicas de d.C. Y desnaturalizacion termica.
