Pia <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En la busqueda de mejores fuentes vegetales de produccion de ecdisteroides (compuestos que pueden actuar como hormonas de muda y que por ello constituyen potenciales insecticidas biorracionales), se analizo el contenido ecdisteroidal de siete variedades de ajuga reptans y de las especies a. Pyramidalis y a. Genevensis, de plantas cultivadas en el invernadero asi como de raices cultivadas \u00abin vitro\u00bb. De los cultivos de invernadero, la a. Pyramidalis resulto ser la mas productora de ecdisteroides, en cambio en los cultivos \u00abin vitro\u00bb fue una de las variedades de a. Reptans. Dependiendo de la variedad, los perfiles ecdisteroidales fueron notablemente diferentes. Los resultados obtenidos, al infestar plantas de a. Reptans con bemisia tabaci.  trialeurodes vaporariorum y liromyza. Trifolii, sugieren que los ecdisteroides cumplen en parte una funcion de defensa. De a. Reptans se aislaron por primera vez en este genero la sengosterona y los acetatos de la 20-hidroxiecdisona. Ademas se aislaron y caracterizacion diez nuevos compuestos ecdisteroidales. Una segunda parte consistio en la busqueda de compuestos con actividad antialimentaria. De pilocarpus sp.
