La adicion de acido.  2-oxoglutarico al medio de cultivo provoca una sobreproduccion de glutamato la cual se explica debido a la induccion del sistema clasademililante de la glutamina sintetasa      incrementandose la produccion de glutamato media nte la reaccion acoplada glutamato sintasa- glutamina sintetasa complementariamente al sintetizado via clutamato deshidrogenasa. Se han obtenido mutamles aurotroficos para la glutamina manifestando caracteristicas diferenciales respecto a las descritas en k.
