Teresa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Una lectina presente en el alga parda fucus vesiculosus ha sido purificada hastala homogeneidad por metodos convencionales. Los diversos analisis realizados demuestran que es una molecula de naturaleza mucopolisacaridica  con un 90% de carbohidratos  un peso molecular de 2 millones y un pi de 3 2. Esta nueva lectina aglutina inespecificamente eritrocitos animales presenta una gran especifidad por las levaduras de la especie landida guilliermondii y se une a algunas bacterias y al linfocitos. La union a estos ultimos induce su blastogenesis  in vitro  y produce una estimulacion del sistema inmunitario  in vitro probablemente mediante un procesode activacion polidonal.  la union a celulas de neiiseria meningitidis y de eschridria coli da lugar a un efecto toxico sobre estas bacterias  asi como sobre algunas levaduras.
