Se propone el acido 5 5 tiodisalicilico y su complejo con hierro (iii) como indicador de metales y fluorescente aplicandose a la determinacion reductimetrica de hierro (iii)  asi como a las determinaciones complexometricas de hierro (iii)  circonio (iv)  ytrio (iii) y torio (iv).  finalmente se propone el acido 5 5 tiodisalicilico como indicador fluorescente en valoraciones acido-base y
