Isabel <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Manuel centurion  natural de nerja (malaga)  fue un oficial del ejercito espa\u00f1ol  que ocupo el cargo de gobernador y comandante general de la provincia de guayana  de 1766 a 1776. Esta provincia  hoy parte de venezuela  tenia gran importancia estrategica por su vecindad con holandeses  franceses y portugueses. La tesis es una aproximacion a la figura de este gobernante que destaco por su magnifica actuacion. Se analizan sus logros al frente de la provincia  su mejora de la defensa comercio y hacienda publica  aumento de poblacion  etc.  tambien se da amplia noticia del entorno historico y socio-cultural de guayana  asi como de las circunstancias familiares y profesionales de centurion  antes y despues de su destino a america.
