Desde el punto de vista mineralogico se pueden diferenciar dos tipos de sistemas: 1) medios bien drenados en los que se identifican dos etapas: a) meteorizacion con gibbsita  filosilicatos 1:1 dioctaedricos (de bajo grado de orden)  sesquioxidos de fe y minerales primarios alterables. B) fase avanzada con predominio de los filosilicatos 1:1 (caolinitas desordenadas)  oxihidroxidos de fe y cantidades variables de gibbsita. 2) los medios con hidromorfia permanente sobre gabros  los materiales cloriticos sufren una degradacion hacia minerales de tipo vermiculita intergrado hidroxi-aluminicos. 3) los medios con hidromorfia alternante presentan caracteristicas intermedias entre los
