En presencia del antibiotico tunicamicina se pudo detectar una forma subglicosilada de exo-beglucanasa que poseia actividad enzimatica y era secretada al medio de cultivo tanto por celulas como por protoplastos de la levadura aunque presentaba una menor estabilidad frente a diversos valores de ph y temperatura. Las dos glicoproteinas (alfa-galactosidasa y exo-b-glucanasa) se purificaron a partir del sobrenadante de cultivo de s. Cerevisiae caracterizandose y obteniendose anticuerpos frente a las enzimas purificadas. Se puso de manifiesto en s.  cerevisiae la existencia de dos formas enzimaticas con actividad exo-b-glucanasica que deben estar intimamente relacionadas  ya que es posible la precipitacion de ambas
