Jose <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Tanto aphanius iberus (especie endemica de la peninsula iberica) como gambusia holbrooki (especie introducida) estan adaptadas a las fluctuaciones que se producen en el delta del ebro como consecuencia de la apertura y cierre de los canales de desague de los campos del arroz, asi como a las variaciones propias de un estuario. Ambas especies presentan un rapido crecimiento, reducida longevidad, madurez precoz y un elevado esfuerzo reproductor que les permiten aprovechar las condiciones favorables del medio, que se dan en un periodo concreto y reducido. Difieren en sus estrategias reproductivas:  gambusia holbrooki es una especie vivipara, lo que representa una ventaja frente a aphanius iberus que es ovipara.
