Frente a carbaniones en etanol se obtienen productos de alquilacion y alcoxilacion dependiendo del mecanismo de la reaccion. Por reaccion de 3 5-dimetil-4-isoxazolilacetonitrilo con compuestos de grignard y trialquilaluminios se obtienen oxocompuestos isoxazolicos procedentes de alquilacion o reduccion. Por reaccion de halogenuros de 3 5-dimetil-4-isoxazolilmagnesio con halogenuros organicos y con cetonas ciclicas se obtienen productos de condensacion que son susceptibles de transformaciones
