En una primera parte se ha realizado el estudio del comportamiento de una estructura nematica torsionada llegando a la obtencion de la matriz t de transmision. La fase siguiente fue la utilizacion de las cartas de smith y de carter. Extendiendo estos estudios a dos y y tres celulas. El objetivo fundamental ha sido la realizacion practica de posibles configuraciones que den lugar a filtros opticos con control electrico externo. Se han estudiado las influencias de colorantes organicos disueltos en este tipo de estructuras.
