Se deducen expresiones para los flujos difusivos de calor y masa en una mezcla gaseosa  diluida en un gas inerte  desarrollando en fracciones molares de las especies diluidas las expresiones conocidas dadas por la teoria de enskog-chapman y los resultados se aplican para estudiar el efecto de los fenomenos de transporte cruzado (efectos soret y dufour).
